DMIE is a diabetes research program run by the University of Hawaii Center for Disability Studies. The program assists diabetics with lifestyle changes that improve their ability to manage their diabetes through goal planning/tracking, diet planning, and a mentoring program. While working for Agis, I was responsible for not only the aesthetics of the site, but also assisted in creating the program's user interface.
The program focuses on low-income individuals with minimal education, so the user experience is integral to the success of the program. Participants have access to an interactive planner with goal tracking, a journal, and a message center to communicate directly with their coach/mentor.
The DMIE program is currently underway, but it is only accessible to participants and members of the study.
